Frequently Asked Questions

I am registered but have forgotten my username and/or password. How do I find out what it was?

Your username is the email address you used when registering with FlyNRate. In order to retrieve your password, open the application and select the "Forgot Password" option on the bottom of the login screen. You will be prompted for your e-mail address and we will send you an e-mail confirming your password. It is that easy! Remember you can also login using your Facebook or Twitter account details to make life even more simple.

I tried loading a flight but could not find it?

Whilst FlyNRate aims to provide comprehensive schedule information for all global flight traffic it can happen that certain routes are not covered by the providers of our schedule and status information. Unfortunately, in this event a selected route will not appear in the search feature of the application.

How do I remove completed flights from My Flights section?

When you load a flight in FlyNRate it is added to the active tab of your "My Flights" screen. For all flights loaded in this screen you will receive active flight updates and up to date delay notifications. Once the flight has landed it will remain in the active tab until you select the rating function within the flight screen. You can clear the slot by rating the completed flight (which takes less than a minute) and will be provided with the option to share your feedback via one of the many social media options FlyNRate supports. Finally a forum to quickly and easily voice your concerns about any airline or airport anywhere - anytime!

I have previously loaded flights for tracking purposes but can’t do so anymore, what must I do?

You may have too many flights in your active flight screen. Simply click on a completed flight and select the “Rate this flight”. Once the flight has been rated you should be able to add new flights.

Where does FlyNRate obtain its schedule, tracking and status information?

FlyNRate sources its schedule, tracking and status information directly from Flightstats Inc, a leading provider of flight information around the world. The data is aggregated from many sources and vetted thoroughly to ensure data quality before being provided to FlyNRate. For more information please visit their webpage at

I did load the correct flight but for some reason it is not tracking. What is the problem?

FlyNRate sources the majority of its scheduling information from Flighstats Inc. and although they source data from many sources, there might be flights from/to small towns or in remote places where no scheduling information is available. The application will know when flights are scheduled to arrive and when they have landed, which means you can still rate it. We are continuously striving to source the latest and most accurate available status information and are committed to working with a wide variety of partners to provide the best scheduling and tracking information for our users.

Where can I get the Blackberry, Windows or Android version of FlyNRate?

Currently FlyNRate is only available on the Appstore for the iPhone and iPad. Development is currently underway for the other platforms and will be released in due course! Be sure to check back on our Facebook page, Twitter handle or webpage to keep up to date with new releases.

What if I don’t have a Facebook or Twitter account? Will I still be able to use the social media feature?

Yes, you will be able to use the social media fixture. The social media feature just allows you to share your FlyNRate experiences very easily across your Facebook and Twitter accounts, should you have them.

I had already downloaded the FlyNRate app before and paid to download the Expense Tracker but I have lost my phone. Do I have to pay again to get it?

The good news is that you don’t need to pay again. Just install the app again and the Expense Tacker will be added in the app without any additional cost.

I tracked someone else’s flight. Can I rate the flight?

No, you will not be able to rate the flight. When you load someone else’s flight it only starts tracking the flight after it leaves the departure airport. A short while after the flight you have been tracking for someone else has landed it will disappear from the FlyNRate app automatically.

In FlyNRate I am asked for some personal information. What are you going to do with my email address or any data you collect from me?

We take data protection very seriously as is set out in our Terms and Conditions. We will not distribute your personal data to anyone outside of FlyNRate. We will keep requests for personal information to an absolute minimum and will only ask for information that adds value directly to you the user. Your registered email address sets up a unique record for you to which we can link your feeds in the social media feature and help you if you have any issues with your FlyNRate account. We might also communicate with you in very specific situations such as relaying responses of Airline companies to your complaints or compliments submitted via FlyNRate. We will not advertise or spam your email address and as a responsible corporate take all necessary steps to ensure that your privacy is protected at all times.

Why is the FlyNRate app not tracking my flight when I am overseas?

The FlyNRate application requires an active data connection in order to receive the most up to date flight schedules and delay information. While you are abroad you will need to check that that your data roaming is switched on or you are connected through an active WIFI connection if you wish to receive application updates. Data usage while roaming may incur extra (and sometimes significant charges) that you might not be aware of so please check with your mobile operator before enabling.
